For People with Autism; To Better Understand and Accept Your Own Autism.
Anyone who is diagnosed with autism first wants to understand what this means for him or her. It takes time and space to discover your own way of dealing with autism. This process is unique to each person. This group offers the support you need to find your own path.
Purpose of the Group
In the group, you will gain insight into your own autism. Throughout the sessions, you will work on answering questions, such as:
-
What is autism, and what does it mean for me?
-
Which of my traits are often seen as autism?
-
How do people without autism experience the world?
-
What do other people with autism experience?
-
How does autism affect my daily life?
-
What are my strengths, and how can I use them?
Answers to these questions will help you better understand your autism and learn how to manage it in daily life. In one of the final sessions, you will invite your family or loved ones to join, helping them gain a better understanding of you and your experience.
Who Is the Group For?
The group is for adults (ages 18 to 65) with an autism spectrum disorder who have average to high intelligence.
